Nassau valley vineyard, the first and largest winery in Delaware, was opened in 1993 by a jazz singer, Peggy Raley. The winery sits on an eight-acre property on 32165 Winery Way, Lewes, Delaware, United States.

The vineyard grows, produces, and sells its wine at the same location. Nassau valley winery produces sweet, dry white and red wine. The Nassau Vineyard produces wine such as;

The Nassau Valley Farmers Market

Nassau valley vineyards organize a farmers market every Sunday from 12 to 3 pm. several artists play music at the market. There is a full bar with wine from Nassau valley and other local v vendors. You can buy local produce at the market, such as arts, crafts, honey, and jams.

Nassau tours and tasting

Visit Nassau valley for free on a self-guided tour within operational hours. You can also enjoy a wine tasting for $10 per person and take home your tasting glass. Wine tasting is not allowed 15 minutes to close of business as per the Delaware laws.

the Nassau valley winery produces fourteen types of wine. Some of the best are;

2017 Chardonnay (Dark, Oak Aged)-made with lemon, butterscotch aromas with a taste of light lemon, vanilla, and spice.

2017 Merlot “Adrift” (dry)- made traditional French style with a smokey raspberry aroma and a taste of tannins and fruit.

2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Dry)- a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Made with red plum and licorice and has pepper spice and smokey taste.

2016 “Indian River Red” Vinter’s Blend (Dry)- a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot with 13-month-old new French Oak. has an earthy aroma with leather, smoke, and black cherries. Tastes warm with a little pepper, prune, fruit and tannins.

2019 Peach Ambrosia ( Semi-Sweet White)- Fermented peach juice with no additives has a pure ripe peach aroma. It tastes sweet with peach flavor.
