Residential Fence FAQs

Prices on fences are dependent on the material you choose and the exact style you order. We provide quotes for free! Simply reach out to our team through our online form or give us a call and our team of friendly, experienced staff will be glad to walk you through the process and plan a consultation.

Important!

We encourage you to speak with one of our fence experts before focusing solely on price! There are cheaper, very poor quality fence materials available that will not last. We don't use them. There are also very inexperienced and unprofessional fence installers who continually cut corners and don't stand behind their work, regardless of what their so-called-warranty says.

Fences must stand up to Delaware's high winds, harsh weather, and physical abuse from animals, kids, and gardeners. Shopping for the cheapest fence is usually not the best way to make a decision about the fence you want to protect and beautify your home and the people you care about.

The best way to get an accurate estimate for your fence installation date is to call our team of friendly fence consultants!

Once you approve the estimate, we can often install residential fences in most of the Delaware area within 3 to 6 weeks, but please check with our office for your specific project. There are times throughout the year where that timeframe may be less or more.

There are other things that can delay the start of a fencing project. If you select a specific type of material, post options, or decorative options that need to be special ordered, that will often delay the installation of your fence. We will help you to identify, in advance, any of your choices that are known to be likely to cause these additional delays, and we will offer alternatives whenever possible.

Our fence experts will gladly come to your property and take all the measurements you need! We are a full-service fence company that specializes in residential fence installation; you do not need to work hard to get a great new fence.

Caution!

Fencing is often priced and sold by SECTIONS, not by linear feet! Even when the linear footage is included specifically on price estimate, the total number of sections is a factor in this pricing. So, "price per linear foot" is only a rough estimate and rarely represents the actual cost of the finished fence!

This is a very interesting difference that we would love to explore and explain to you if you'd like to speak with one of our fence experts further. Be aware, "price per linear foot" is a ploy that many unprofessional fence installers in the Delaware area use!

Every local municipality has a separate set of requirements when it comes to building permits, and that includes residential fencing. When you decide to work with Backyard Works, we will handle all of the permitting necessary for your fence project! We have installed many residential fences in just about every possible area across Delaware, so we are happy to answer these sorts of questions.

Fence placement is ultimately the responsibility of you, the customer. Moving a fence after it's already been installed can be costly. It's never a bad idea to get a survey to be safe. However, in many cases we are more than happy to install your fence without an official survey, especially if the property lines are clear and well-marked. While a survey is not required, it can greatly reduce the chance of dealing with the headache of moving your newly installed fence.

We make it easy to get an estimate for your residential fence! You can simply reach out to our office staff through our online contact form or call us and our friendly fence pros will walk you through the process.

One of our experienced team members will come out to your property and take detailed measurements and will then provide you with a detailed estimate for your new residential fence. We'll be happy to help you design your fence and get the perfect solution for you!

Fencing is one of the easiest industries to "get into" for start-up businesses and novice laborers. For these people who are looking to make a few extra dollars installing fences, a shovel, a level, and a string line may be all they need.

As a result, there are many individuals and/or companies who show up in Delaware, install residential fences for a short time, then disappear. We see it all the time. Beware! You only want to work with a fully licensed and insured fencing contractor in the Delaware area.

Here are some of the main pitfalls of working with non-professionals:

  1. The Residential Fence Warranty is Void
If the individual or company that installed your residential fence isn't still around, the workmanship warranty on the fence and the gates is worthless. Additionally, some manufacturers won't warranty their fence material if it was damaged during installation or installed improperly, which is very common with non-professionals.

  2. The Fence Almost Certainly Won't Last As Long
As a professional fencing contractor, our team of installers undergoes rigorous training and constant professional supervision. We are dedicated to improving our knowledge and skills of the best fencing materials and the best fence installation techniques in order to maximize the strength and life of your fence. Companies that simply install fences as something they do "on the side" usually have no idea how much they actually don't know about residential fencing or what is best for you and your property.

  3. Putting Your Property at Risk
Installing a residential fence in Delaware is actually somewhat risky. Sudden, harsh weather during the installation of a fence can blow materials, damaging your home. We've seen concrete splatter up onto cars or drip down beautiful driveways or walkways as buckets of wet concrete are transported. Deep tire tracks sinking into your grass is another common issue. The secondary damage to homes and yards while installing fences by untrained labor is a very common thing.

Additionally, anyone hurt on your property while they are working puts you at risk! If you hire an unlicensed or uninsured contractor, you may be liable and your homeowners insurance may deny payment!

At first glance, hiring a novice to install your fence may appear to save you a few dollars, but in the long run it is almost certainly a price that you simply cannot afford to pay!

Commercial Fence FAQs

There are many small fence companies in Delaware that list commercial fencing as one of their services. Aluminum Fence FAQs

Yes! We are a leading aluminum fencing contractor across the entire Delaware area.

Our crews are experienced and specially trained in the latest techniques for installing aluminum fences, ensuring your fence is installed properly, will look great, function properly, and will hold up to the harsh weather typical of the Delaware area.

Aluminum fencing is a popular option for homes and businesses in the Delaware region. Aluminum fences are strong yet lightweight. Together with their durable protective coating, aluminum fences easily stand up to the harsh weather conditions of Delaware.

While there are other fence materials that are less expensive initially, aluminum fencing requires nearly zero maintenance. Over time aluminum fencing is actually a less expensive fencing material than many of the other alternatives in terms of time and cost saving of paints and sealers that are not required by aluminum fences.

If a maintenance-free elegant looking fence is what you want, look no further than aluminum fencing.

Aluminum fences are very durable! Don't let the light weight fool you. Aluminum is a very strong material used in airplanes, cars, and many other items that are designed to protect you. Aluminum fencing is more than strong enough and durable enough to protect your home or business, while standing strong in the face of Delaware weather. Typical physical abuse from falling limbs, landscapers, kids, animals, neighbors, and more is usually no problem for our professional-quality aluminum fencing.

It should be mentioned, however, that some discount fencing contractors in the Delaware area are known to undercut prices by using lower-quality aluminum fencing, which absolutely does not hold up as well. Be careful. You get what you pay for!

Prices on aluminum fences are highly dependent on the amount of fencing you need as well as the exact style, height, and options you select.

We provide aluminum fencing quotes for free! Simply give us a call and our team of friendly, experienced staff will be glad to walk you through the process and plan a consultation.

Important!

We encourage you to speak with one of our fence experts before focusing solely on price! There are cheaper, very poor-quality aluminum fence brands available that are not nearly as durable, will fade, and will bend. We don't use them.

There are also very inexperienced and unprofessional fence installers who continually cut corners and don't stand behind their work, regardless of what their so-called warranty says.

Aluminum fences must stand up to Delaware's high winds, harsh weather, and physical abuse from animals, kids, gardeners, and neighbors. Shopping for the cheapest fence is usually not the best way to make a decision about the fence you want to protect and beautify your home and the people you care about.

Aluminum fences require very little maintenance. Aluminum is rust and corrosion resistant, naturally. In addition, our professional quality aluminum fencing has been factory treated to further prevent rust and corrosion, while resisting color fading and dull finish issues that are more common with lower quality aluminum fencing.

For this reason, an occasional mild rinse with a water hose, a gentle, non-abrasive home cleaner, and a sponge should be sufficient. Apart from that, you should not need to do anything except enjoy your beautiful aluminum fence!

Our aluminum fences are powder coated at the factory. A powder coating added to an aluminum fence prevents corrosion and makes regular maintenance a breeze by sealing in the final color under a chemically bonded layer. It's accomplished by applying an electrostatically charged powder to the metal and baking it into a smooth coating.

If you are considering an aluminum fence for your Delaware area property, you definitely want to protect the beauty and durability of your fence with a powder coating. No stress. We are proud to sell and install powder-coated aluminum fences for both residential and commercial applications.

We will help you to identify, in advance, any of your choices that are known to be likely to cause these additional delays, and we will offer alternatives whenever possible.

Aluminum fencing is unique in its ability to be utilized for such a wide array of applications. Listed below are some of the most popular applications of aluminum fencing:

  • Decorative Aluminum Fencing

  • Aluminum Pool Fencing
One of the most common uses of aluminum fencing in the Delaware area is to protect and beautify a pool area. Non-corrosive, beautiful, and easy to view beyond (allowing you to monitor the area), aluminum fences were literally "made for pools."
  • Aluminum Perimeter Fencing
Typically used for higher priced homes and particularly beautiful settings all across Delaware. 4-foot, 5-foot, and even 6-foot and taller aluminum fencing can provide a strong and beautiful secure perimeter to your property.

Chain Link Fence FAQs

Yes! We are a leading chain link fencing contractor across the entire Delaware area.

Our crews are experienced and specially trained in the latest techniques for installing chain link fences, ensuring your fence is installed properly, will look great, function properly, and will hold up to the harsh weather typical of Delaware.

Chain link fencing is a popular option for homes and businesses in the Delaware region. Chain link fences are strong yet lightweight. If a durable, reliable fence is what you want, look no further than chain link fencing.

We provide chain link fencing quotes for free! Simply reach out to our team through our online form or call us and our team of friendly, experienced staff will be glad to walk you through the process and plan a consultation.

Important!

We encourage you to speak with one of our fence experts before focusing solely on price! There are cheaper, very poor quality chain link brands available that are not nearly as durable, don't have the same quality corrosion protection, and have limited (if any) warranties. We don't use them.

There are also very inexperienced and unprofessional fence installers who continually cut corners and don't stand behind their work, regardless of what their so-called warranty says.

Chain link fences must stand up to the physical demands of Delaware weather, and physical abuse from falling branches, landscapers, neighbors, animals, and more.

Shopping for the cheapest fence is usually not the best way to make a decision about the fence you want to protect and beautify your property.

Chain link fences require very little maintenance. Our professional quality chain link fencing has been factory-treated to prevent rust and corrosion and can be further enhanced with protective colored vinyl coating.

We recommend clearing debris away from the bottom of the fence and maybe a quick squirt of the hose every once in a while. Chain link fencing requires almost no attention or maintenance.

PVC-coated chain link fencing (sometimes called vinyl-coated chain link fencing) is that beautiful colored coating that can be added to chain link fencing. More than a simple color choice, vinyl coating your chain link fence greatly increases the rust and corrosion resistance of the fence and will greatly extend the life of your fence.

Colored vinyl coatings added to chain link fences are very popular in the Delaware area. They are particularly popular for athletic fields, pool areas, and anywhere else where children are commonly found, due to the smooth texture. These PVC-coatings are applied at the factory for maximum quality and protection.

It's fairly easy to secure your chain link fence from being able to be pushed out for a pet to escape. A tension wire can be added to the bottom of the chain link to keep it from being pushed out by children or animals. If a tension wire is not enough, a bottom rail could also be installed for an even stronger barrier.

Yes, they do!

We offer our comprehensive 3-year workmanship warranty for every fence we install. We take pride in our work and our craftsmanship! We earn our outstanding reputation in the Delaware area - one happy customer at a time.

In addition, your fence may come with a manufacturer warranty based on the specifications of your individual project. Your contract will explain all details for your installation, warranties, and what you can expect as you work with our professional fence team!

Athletic areas and children's parks almost exclusively use chain link fencing.
  • Chain Link Fencing for Pool Areas
Chain link fencing is very popular for protecting residential and commercial pool areas across Delaware. Adding the non-corrosive vinyl coating makes chain link fencing a great option for pool fencing in the Delaware region.
  • Chain Link Security Fencing
Chain link fencing is the most popular type of security fencing in Delaware, due to a large number of security add-ons available for the top of the fence, and the height that a chain link fence can be designed and built. If securing your property is your primary objective, chain link fencing may be your perfect solution.

Every local municipality in Delaware has a separate set of requirements when it comes to building permits, and that includes chain link fencing. Sometimes the specific height of the fence, placement of the fence, or purpose of the fence can impact the need for a permit. There are also HOA considerations in some areas.

There are many small fence companies in the Delaware area that install chain link fencing. Very few of them specifically train their teams on the best installation techniques and practices for installing chain link fencing. Unfortunately, this means that your chain link is almost certainly not installed as securely as it could be, which, ultimately, can reduce the quality and lifespan of your fence.

Inferior installation techniques and using improper tools can also damage the chain link during installation which may have the unfortunate impact of voiding the manufacturer's warranty, because you chose an unqualified contractor not approved by the manufacturer.

Also be sure to choose a reliable fence company that has been around. Here are some of the most common pitfalls of using an unreliable, unlicensed, or uninsured chain link fencing contractor:

  1. The Chain Link Fence Warranty is Void

Vinyl Fence FAQs

Yes! We are a leading vinyl fencing contractor across the entire Delaware area.

Our crews are experienced and specially trained in the latest techniques for installing vinyl fences, ensuring your fence is installed properly, will look great, function properly, and will hold up to the harsh weather typical of the Delaware area.

Vinyl fencing is a popular option for homes and businesses in the Delaware region. Vinyl fences are strong enough to stand up to the harsh weather conditions of Delaware.

Vinyl fencing requires nearly zero maintenance. If a maintenance-free, clean, and modern-looking fence is what you want, look no further than vinyl fencing.

Vinyl lasts a long time, so you don't have to generate or consume as many new resources to replace it, and it can be recycled after you're done with it. There's no need to paint it or treat it with other chemicals. Vinyl fencing is one of the most eco-friendly alternatives available.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the plastic most often used to make a vinyl fence, ranks third among the world's most manufactured synthetic plastics. Beautiful fences in a number of designs may be made from it, but it also has many other applications in the building industry, including in windows, pipelines, and other items.

Vinyl fencing is one of the most eco-friendly alternatives available.

Vinyl lasts a long time, so you don't have to generate or consume as many new resources to replace it, and it can be recycled after you're done with it. Recycled vinyl fencing is often used in the next generation of new vinyl fences, making it a great option for those who are environmentally aware!

Another huge benefit to your immediate environment and to the health of your family and pets is that vinyl fencing does not require harsh cleaners or paint, or sealers, all of which may contain harsh or even toxic chemicals.

PVC, the material used to make vinyl fences, is nonporous. Therefore, it does not readily accept paint. When it comes to fences, many Delaware residents select vinyl specifically because it never needs painting, staining, or sealing. Unlike wood fences, vinyl fences retain their original color and shine for the duration of their life span.

So, while vinyl fences can't be painted, there are a number of different colors and styles available to customize your fence to match your home and your personal style preferences.

Vinyl fences are an excellent choice for property owners looking for privacy. By far, the most popular privacy fence across the Delaware area is the standard 6-ft white vinyl privacy fence. However, there are many other options! Taller fences give even more privacy. You can also choose semi-privacy options that obscure most of the view into your yard but also have decorative design features and come in many popular color choices.

Important!

We encourage you to speak with one of our fence experts before focusing solely on price! There are cheaper, very poor quality vinyl fence brands available that are not nearly as durable, will fade, and will often warp. We don't use them. There are also very inexperienced and unprofessional fence installers who continually cut corners and don't stand behind their work, regardless of what their so-called warranty says.

Vinyl fences must stand up to the physical demands of Delaware weather and physical abuse from falling branches, landscapers, neighbors, animals, and more.

Shopping for the cheapest fence is usually not the best way to make a decision about the fence you want to protect and beautify your property.

Vinyl fences require very little maintenance. Vinyl doesn't rust and doesn't splinter. An occasional mild rinse with a water hose, a gentle, non-abrasive home cleaner, and a sponge should be sufficient. Apart from that, you should not need to do anything except enjoy your beautiful vinyl fence!

Yes, they do!

Additionally, there are other things that can delay the start of a fencing project. If you select a specific vinyl fence style, color, or options that need to be specially ordered, that will often delay the installation of your fence. We will help you to identify, in advance, any of your choices that are known to be likely to cause these additional delays, and we will offer alternatives whenever possible.

Wood Fence FAQs

Yes! We are a leading custom wood fencing contractor across the entire Delaware area.

Our crews are experienced and specially trained in the latest techniques for building wood fences, ensuring your fence is installed properly, will look great, function properly, and will hold up to the harsh weather typical of Delaware.

Pricing on all fencing materials can fluctuate, but generally speaking, the up-front cost of wood fencing is usually lower than some other types of fencing. Keep in mind that wood fencing needs to be maintained by sealing and staining it over time, so its maintenance should be considered in the total cost of your purchase.

Your wood fence should be protected with a high-quality stain and sealer, but the decision is ultimately yours to make. Proper care and maintenance of your wood fence will absolutely extend the life of your fence for many years to come!

The harsh weather conditions in Delaware can severely impact wood fences that are not properly cared for. Speak to one of our wood fence experts to learn more about the specific steps you can take for your particular situation.

Wood fencing is a popular option for homes and businesses in Delaware. A properly built wood fence with quality material is strong enough to stand up to the harsh weather conditions of Delaware.

The best option for wood fencing at properties all around Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware is our pressure-treated pine or western red cedar. Western red cedar is superior to many of the fences built by other contractors who may say they use cedar, but they are actually using a product called Japanese red cedar that is a much lower-quality wood. Properly maintained, wood fences last years and look great in Delaware.

Prices on wood fences are highly dependent on the amount of fencing you need as well as the exact style, height, and options you select.

We provide wood fencing quotes for free! Simply reach out to our team by giving us a call and our team of friendly, experienced staff will be glad to walk you through the process and plan a consultation.

Important!

We encourage you to speak with one of our fence experts before focusing solely on price! There are cheaper, very poor-quality wood grades that are commonly used by other fencing contractors in Delaware to cut costs. These lower-quality wood options are not only inferior but they will absolutely not last! We don't use them.

There are also very inexperienced and unprofessional fence installers who continually cut corners in their labor and installation techniques who don't stand behind their work, regardless of what their so-called-warranty says.

Wood fences must stand up to the physical demands of Delaware weather, the sun, wind, changing humidity levels, and physical abuse from falling branches, landscapers, neighbors, animals, and more.

Shopping for the cheapest fence is usually not the best way to make a decision about the fence you want to protect and beautify your property.

As always, we are proud to offer a 3-year workmanship warranty on all of our fence projects! However, wood fence materials do not come with a manufacturer warranty. Speak with one of our fence experts to learn the specific details about the warranties of the wood fence options you are considering.

The best way to get an accurate estimate for your fence installation date is to call our team of friendly fence consultants! There are times throughout the year when that timeframe may be shorter or it may be longer.

There are other things that can delay the start of a fencing project. If you select a specific type of wood, post options, or decorative options that need to be specially ordered, that will often delay the installation of your fence. We will help you to identify, in advance, any of your choices that are known to be likely to cause these additional delays, and we will offer alternatives whenever possible.

Wood fencing is unique in its ability to be utilized for such a wide array of applications. Listed below are some of the most popular applications of wood fencing:

  • Decorative Wood Fencing
There are many decorative styles of wood fencing, perfect for showcasing areas of a property or sectioning off an area of your yard. Wood rail fences and wood picket fences are two of the most common decorative styles of wood fencing.
  • Wood Pool Fencing
Wood fencing is a perfect choice for the perimeter of a property to provide privacy for pool areas. We generally do not recommend wood fencing directly adjacent to the pool itself due to the high moisture content in the air. This moisture can cause the fence to deteriorate more rapidly than normal.
  • Wood Perimeter Fencing
Wood fencing is the staple of privacy fences. Popular across Delaware, a 6-foot dog ear, pressure-treated pine wood privacy fence is quite possibly the single-most requested wood fence we install.

Every local municipality in Delaware has a separate set of requirements when it comes to building permits, and that includes wood fencing. Sometimes the specific height of the fence or placement of the fence or purpose of the fence can impact the need for a permit. There are also HOA considerations in some areas.

When you decide to work with Backyard Works, we will handle all of the permitting necessary for your fence project! We have installed many wood fences in just about every possible area across Delaware so we are happy to answer these sorts of questions.

At Backyard Works, we pride ourselves on high-quality fence installations and workmanship. Therefore, we install fences for the majority of the year aside from a short break during winter because of the challenges we face when attempting to install fences during these particularly cold conditions.

There are certain times during the year when our installation schedule is busier, but our fence team always does its best to get you the fence you need right when you need it. Reach out today to find out what our current schedule looks like! We always have room for one more fence!

Fence placement is ultimately the responsibility of you, the customer. Moving a fence after it's already been installed can be costly. It's never a bad idea to get a survey to be safe. However, in many cases, we can install your fence without an official survey, especially if the property lines are clear and well-marked. While a survey is not required, it can greatly reduce the chance of dealing with the headache of moving your newly installed fence.

There are many small fence companies in Delaware that install wood fencing. Very few of them specifically train their teams on the best installation techniques and practices for designing, building, and installing wood fencing. Unfortunately, this means that your wood fence is almost certainly not installed as securely as it could be, which, ultimately, can reduce the quality and lifespan of your fence.

Be sure to choose a reliable fence company that has been around. Here are some of the most common pitfalls of using an unreliable, unlicensed, or uninsured wood fencing contractor:

  1. The Wood Fence Warranty is Void
If the company that installed your wood fence isn't still in business down the road, the workmanship warranty on the fence and the gates is worthless. Additionally, even if you do choose the few wood fence products and options that do come with material warranties, some manufacturers won't warranty their fence material if it was damaged during installation or installed improperly, which is fairly common.

  2. The Fence Almost Certainly Won't Last As Long
As a professional fencing contractor, our team of installers undergoes rigorous training and constant professional enrichment. We are dedicated to improving our knowledge and skills of the best fencing materials and the best fence installation techniques for wood fencing in order to maximize the strength and life of your fence. Companies that simply install fences as something they do "on the side" usually have no idea how much they actually don't know about wood fencing and what is best for you and your property.

  3. Putting Your Property at Risk
Installing wood fences in Delaware is actually somewhat risky. Sudden, harsh weather during the installation of a fence can blow materials, damaging your business or customer's cars. We've seen concrete splatter up onto cars or drip down long stretches of walkways and driveways as wet concrete or other materials are transported. The secondary damage to businesses or your customer's vehicles while installing fences by poorly trained labor is a very common thing.

Additionally, anyone hurt on your property while they are working puts you at risk! If you hire an unqualified fencing contractor - you may be liable.

At first glance, hiring a "cheaper" fence company to install your wood fence may appear to save you a few dollars, but in the long run it is almost certainly a price that you simply cannot afford to pay!

Ornamental Steel FAQs

Ornamental steel fencing is a great option for properties of all shapes and sizes in Delaware. It is a very strong material that creates a high level of security with an unmatched elegant design. If your priorities are design and strength, ornamental steel is a perfect solution for any home or business.

Ornamental steel fencing is one of the more costly types of fencing in Delaware due to the weight and strength of the metal and the craftsmanship it takes to build. When you are in the market for a new fence, speak to our fence professionals, who can help you get a quote for whichever type of fencing you're looking for and help you find the perfect fit for your goals and your budget.

As far as earth-friendly fences go, ornamental steel fences are a great choice. The metal is easy to maintain, long-lasting, and recyclable if you need to in the future. All of these factors contribute to it being a very eco-friendly type of fence to install at your Delaware property.

Ornamental steel fences are built to last a lifetime at your Delaware property! Throughout history, you can still find ironwork that has stood for centuries, and it's no surprise why with the solid, durable metal it is crafted from. Certain factors like climate, maintenance, and protective coating all impact the longevity of your ornamental steel fence, but regardless, you can be sure that your fence will stand strong for many, many years.

Ornamental steel fencing needs very little maintenance over its lifetime at your Delaware property. Being proactive is the best way to make sure your fence will last without any issues. Keeping your ornamental steel free of dents will help prevent rust, so avoid using lawn trimmers too close to your fence or planting bushes too close to your fence, which can hide problems if they arise. Other than a rinse every now and then, your ornamental steel fence should need no cleaning or repairs, and you'll also receive a manufacturer's warranty that should cover major problems for your peace of mind.

The overall strength of ornamental steel fences in Delaware varies based on the thickness of the fence posts and pickets as well as the post depth and fence height. Steel fences are more durable than most other forms of fencing because carbon is added to the iron, which helps an ornamental iron/steel fence survive the elements and other possible harm.

One of the best features of ornamental steel fences is that it is resistant to rust and corrosion. The engineering of the metal and the protective coating that it comes with helps to ensure a long-lasting product with very little maintenance needed and no peeling or chipping. You can have peace of mind with the manufacturer warranty that covers your fence, too.

Sunrooms FAQs

This is a common question but a difficult one to answer. Because your sunroom will be constructed to your unique specifications, there isn't a one-size-fits-all price.

Many factors determine the cost, such as the foundation, where and how we would attach the room to your house, local building code requirements, and your design ideas. These are just a few of the variables that will determine the cost. To make this process simple and stress-free, we offer a free, no-obligation estimate. Call Us today and let us help you design the room of your dreams.

Each sunroom, 3-season room, or 4-season room has a unique timeframe for construction, depending on the scope of work. There are many factors that cause a timeframe to vary on construction in Delaware. A sunroom, as the name suggests, is a room designed to let in natural sunlight while providing shelter from the elements. Typically made of glass or screen panels, a sunroom is a bright and airy addition to your home. Sunrooms are not typically connected to the HVAC system of the main house, meaning they are not heated or cooled.

A 3-season room, also known as a 3-season porch, is similar to a sunroom but with some key differences. As the name suggests, a 3-season room is designed to be used during three out of the four seasons - spring, summer, and fall. A 3-season room may not have insulation, and it may not be connected to the HVAC system of the main house, which means it may not be suitable for use during the winter months in colder climates like Delaware.
